Dhul Qarnain:Who he was?
The
only true and reliable source of information available is glorious
Qur'an.Many scholars are of the view that he was a Yemeni King.Others
are of the vuew that he was Egyptian king.However,most probably he was a
Yemeni king.The kissa(Truse story) of Dhul Qarnain has been mentioned
in
Sura al-Khaf 18-83-100.
Allah Exalted the Lord of all the worlds has provided him all the means to achieve his targets,objectives and causes.

Hence,with the help of God gifted abilities and facilities he decided to carry out an expedition.
He chalked out a plan.He set his target and to achieve his target he made best use use of his abilities,talents and resources.
Most probably his goal was to see the setting and the rising places of the sun.May be he wants to see from the sun rises and where the sun sets in.
